one of my family's favorite memories of Molly Murphy's was one of the waiters who kept running after my mom, asking if he could squeeze her bun (her hair was all dolled up). Us 4 kids had never seen my mom blush or cringe that way and we all still laugh about it. The staff at Molly's was hysterical!

We took my daughter and her husband to dinner there on their first wedding anniversary. The look on their faces was something to see where the waiter brought out a plate to them with two large scoops of ice cream with a banana
standing up between them.

It would be great for Hal Smith's group to re-open Molly's. The building at Lake Hefner where Bahama Breeze was located is available.

I was most dissappointed to find this web page, given I will be in OKC on business for the first time in 29 years, and had my fingers crossed that Molly Murphy's House of Fine repute was still going strong. I guess nothing good lasts forever -- but was it ever fun while it lasted! I remember standing in line to get in, having the staff serving drinks outside while we waited -- in complete disregard for the law. I was visiting the "House of Fine Repute" in the late 70's while it was disco, then country. And who can forget getting sour cream all over them -- or the fun of getting a new visitor to simply ask where the restroom was located! Sorry she's no longer there! So -- any fun/good alternatives in OKC these days?

My Uncle Glen was the Caped Crusader in OKC in the 70’s and I heard some pretty wild stories. Later in ’81 I had my own experiences at the Tulsa Molly’s. I had just graduated from OSU, was bored with my day job so I started working there as a little brat kid with a sling shot and all day sucker. One night my day job boss came in to my surprise. He thought I was funny so I didn’t get fired. I remember Sally Sailor and Hiawatha; can’t remember their names. Dated both; they were cute. Great memories.

Hey Wrongway! Whazzup Jim?! See you actually made it to Alaska, for good! Way to go. I see our old friend Dwayne once in a while. Talked to Sinbad (Rick Reikle) a couple months ago! He's in Chicago now writing computer programming! What a hoot! Chris Hale is still around as well.
I am FINALLY healed up, mostly, from the back fracture and subsequent surgeries! Only took 8 years! Even though I still deal with chronic pain issues and have a pump implanted that puts Dilaudid directly into my spinal fluid, I am now back at work again as coordinator of a program at the Tulsa Zoo and I do live science shows at the Zoo Amphitheater. After 17 years of being married I am blissfully single again as of last May! My boy (living with me)is 13 now and he's doing great in school and is a blast to have around.
Keep your *ss from freezing up there, like me, you ain't got much insulation still I see! Send me some SALMON!
Give me a shout at necoordinator@tulsazoo.org

The Book Signing in Tulsa was great! Who remembers John Cole, GM? He and Stephanie, his wife came by. Dennis the Mennis and his two children came by bringing a 1983 framed menu..he teaches drame in Broken Arrow..several Tulsans came whose children worked at Mollys as well as several former customers and some of my old friends...highlight was at the very end of the day Michael Jackson (Louis) had a dozen roses delivered to me by the girl who used to sell roses in the restuarant...turns out she is good friends with my
highschool classmate who came by to take me to dinner after the signing..the flowers were still beautiful when I got home and put them in a vase. Thank you Louis...I look forward to visiting with you when you are in the area again.
I have one more book signing April 26, in Ardmore, my old home town. This has all been really fun but I have one more idea...Molly Murhy's House of Fine Repute...The Musical!
Ya'll have fun on that train trip.
Jeffiee
